How this fits
your setup

Returning users may already have your app. If the app supports a deep link, you can include it in the routing instead of sending every visitor straight to the store listing.

  1. Use a deep link your app supports

Your app must already handle its URL scheme or associated web link.

  2. Add it to the app settings

Save the deep link alongside the store destinations. HTTPS deep-link domains require ownership verification.

  3. Test installed and uninstalled states

Check both paths on real devices, from the browsers and social apps where you will share the link.

A routing attempt, not installation detection

Browser behavior determines whether the app opens. GoToApp attempts the configured deep link, then uses its normal destination flow when that attempt does not take over.

Questions about this setup

Does store routing still need an SDK?

No. But opening a specific app screen requires the app to support the deep link you supply.

Will users reach the same screen after installing?

GoToApp alone does not preserve that context through installation. Deferred deep linking requires a separate app-side or provider setup.
