Fitness apps and creator traffic
When your acquisition runs through other people's bios, you cannot fix the link after the fact.

The dependency
Fitness products lean on creators: a trainer posts a story, their audience taps, and the app gets installs. That traffic is almost entirely Instagram and TikTok on iPhones, which is the worst case for store links.
Why it is harder than paid
You control your own ad destinations. You do not control what a creator pastes into their story, and you cannot edit it once it is live. If you hand out a raw store URL, every one of those placements is broken and nobody tells you.
What to hand creators
- A routing address, never a raw store URL
- A unique campaign token per creator, so payouts match reality
- A short, memorable address they will not mistype
- A one-line instruction: paste this exactly, do not shorten it
The last one matters because creators routinely run links through their own shorteners, which can strip parameters and adds a hop.
Measuring creators honestly
With per-creator tokens, App Store Connect shows installs by source, and click-side data shows how many taps arrived. A creator with high clicks and low arrivals is not underperforming, their audience is on a platform that blocks the hand-off, and that is your problem to fix rather than theirs.
Seasonality
January exists. If most of your annual acquisition lands in a six-week window, the cost of a broken link in that window is the whole year's budget, and there is no time to diagnose it while it is happening.
Per-creator links that survive every platform, with arrival stats to match payouts to reality.
